Tinta Twilight... (18)
...the last of the pink disappears from the horizon, and the twilight takes
over, it darkens the Budapest sky to a deep ink blue - right before nightfall.
Tinta, incidentally means "ink" in hungarian, the first of the five
languages I ever learned.
Not that any of that has anything to do with the beads, I just felt compelled
to explain the name and the inspiration. Regardless of what it is called, it
is a beautiful set, combining light pink and ink-y blue, which is almost
slightly purple. It is elaborate in a muted classy sort of
way.
The dark beads with white flowers are
deep ink blue (not black as they look in the picture.) On the bottom is a
close up picture of the pear shaped bi-cone, and an imperfect heart that I
will also send the winner of this auction. The heart is actually really
pretty, but is slightly FLAWED it had a nick on it, because I put another hot
(sticky) bead next to it in the kiln and it had a little scar leftover from
it. So I sandblasted a little heart to cover it up. It is sort of cute - but
not perfect, I just didn't have the heart ( no pun intended! ) to split it up
from the rest of the set. The picture is "before" sand-blasting. I
don't have a photo of it "after". OH,
and if you like IVORY creamy and smoky colors, check out my other auction
here!

MY LAMPWORK
I use Italian Effetre (also called Moretti) and German Lauscha glass to create these
handmade lampwork beads
in my studio perched on a hill above the beautiful Monterey Bay in California.
I follow my creativity as I make the designs, and if you see a design you like, bid accordingly as I don't know
when the bead muses will inspire me to remake that design. (And I am so
busy with special orders, that I rarely even get to put a set up here.)
I carefully create each bead over an open flame,
it is then kiln annealed overnight in a digitally controlled kiln, and each bead hole is cleaned individually with a diamond drill bur.
You are bidding on the strand pictured. Photos are enlarged to show detail,
a ruler is handy to gauge the size of these beads.
Questions? Feel free to email, I love to hear from
you!

HEART NOTE:
See the nick
on the top right lobe of the heart? That is where there is a little
sandblasted heart now! (Another warning on this heart - the bottom
hole is a little sharp, and the back cleft of the heart is not
entirely straight down the middle) Ok, so now you've got the
disclaimers! Bid accordingly!
