Seacliff Beach... (20+ )
Seacliff Beach, that's where I live, and that was the inspiration for this
set. I was walking along the paved beach walk one morning, and got a
blister, so I decided to take my shoes off, and walk along the water's
edge...my mind started wandering too - and then it took me about 2 weeks to
get this set right! I have to thank Corina for explaining on her website her
"fireworks/ parachute" technique, which I used to make the beach
balls (which are raised.) The beads are chunky tabs, but with extra blue
transparent glass on the water side for the ocean (and it also keeps the beads
right side up, since the blue bottom is heavier - quite clever if I may say so
myself...) The "pendant" I just put together for fun, you're welcome
to take it apart- I don't count those beads in the 20. The bottom one is a
bumpy tab with "whitecaps" and the top one is a beach bead with the
hole vertically through the bead- so it would be great for a bracelet
"dangle" for example. Dark
ivory and transparent blue beads with beach-y accents like shells, footprints
and beach balls. These are a little organic in style, and not as precise and
structured as my regular beads. They were a blast to make, but quite time
consuming - I'm not sure WHEN or if I will remake this set ever. SIZES
Beads are on the chunky side 12 to 18 mm from hole to hole, and about 6-10
mm from thick , and are all made on 1/16th inch mandrels. The entire strand is
9 in long. 11 tabs in graduated sizes, six transparent blue spacers and three
dark ivory spacers, and the pendant. (Also, for this set, I might include some
extras, like MBB spacers or one or two extra beach tabs, if I am still on a
roll making them this week...) But bid ONLY on what you see, anything else is
at my discretion.

MY LAMPWORK
I use Italian Effetre (also called Moretti) and German Lauscha glass to create these
handmade lampwork beads
in my studio perched on a hill above the beautiful Monterey Bay in California.
I follow my creativity as I make the designs, and if you see a design you like, bid accordingly as I don't know
when the bead muses will inspire me to remake that design. (And I am so
busy with special orders, that I rarely even get to put a set up here.)
I carefully create each bead over an open flame,
it is then kiln annealed overnight in a digitally controlled kiln, and each bead hole is cleaned individually with a diamond drill bur.
You are bidding on the strand pictured. Photos are enlarged to show detail,
a ruler is handy to gauge the size of these beads.
