Picadilly Port Holes (10 )
I think these Saturn-beads look like port-holes when decorated. My latest
craze...fun to make, and pretty challenging too. Making one of these beads feels
like being a trapeze artist in a circus. (I just won't bore you with all
that can go wrong.) Let me just say that this set originally started out being
way more ambitious than the 10 beads up for auction here! You
have two-tone saturn-beads, a pink decorated square window bead, a couple of
encased lePoppet bi-cones and some other little cuties. The pink I used is the
coveted "streaky pink."(Yes, that colors some pink-loving
beadmakers would trade their first-born for.) There just isn't any around of
this color anymore. I sparingly use what little I have left. Other colors i used
are Ink-blue, transparent lavenders, amethyst and some rubino-oro (goldpink). Altogether
not for the faint of heart, but very pretty and feminine! SIZES
The 3 Saturn beads are about 20 mm from hole to hole, and about 11 mm from thick,
the bi-cones are beads are 10 mm hole to hole and about 15 mm in diameter, and the
others are about 11-13 mm hole to hole (except the bubble flower which is 6), and are all made on 1/16th inch mandrels. The entire strand is
about 5 1/2
in long. A total of 10 handmade lampwork beads.

MY LAMPWORK
I use Italian Effetre (also called Moretti) and German Lauscha glass to create these
handmade lampwork beads
in my studio perched on a hill above the beautiful Monterey Bay in California.
I follow my creativity as I make the designs, and if you see a design you like, bid accordingly as I don't know
when the bead muses will inspire me to remake that design. (And I am so
busy with special orders, that I rarely even get to put a set up here.)
I carefully create each bead over an open flame,
it is then kiln annealed overnight in a digitally controlled kiln, and each bead hole is cleaned individually with a diamond drill bur.
You are bidding on the strand pictured. Photos are enlarged to show detail,
a ruler is handy to gauge the size of these beads.
