Just to give a proper perspective on things.... here is OUR kitchen (...sigh) on Thanksgiving morning at around seven am, before I'm going off to the bakery and then to start cooking at my Father-In-Law's house.
The bakery parking lot is already full, I parked a few stores away...this is just after 7 am.
And here is the inside of Gayles bakery. I can count 9 staff behind the counter just in this picture (there were at least 20 all in all), the place was hoppin'! This local bakery is the best one around, they bake and make everything from scratch and you can taste that they use REAL ingredients...
Before breakfast the turkey went in... and here is DH Leo checking on stuff(ing) and that the turkey is doing fine...
A small and stress-free Thanksgiving indeed, what a change from feeding a lesser army! It was my stepson Joaquin's first one (since he normally lives in Sweden.) He was very excited....we decided to eat at 4pm, and everybody was starving by then.
We ate...and ate....
Then
we ate some more...
After which we played a fierce game of Pictionary, it was team Zulus (guys) against the Rowandas (girls.) The Zulus won, much to my disappointment. But we had Fun!
